Most software will only check if you are running windows ver xxx and higher so will install. If you are having problems with running the setup installer and OS not recognised you can download ORCA a MSI table installer editor from microsoft which will allow you to edit the setup to ignore OS and just install - for advanced users. This is not too much of a problem as it is outdated software anyway. Unfortunately some programs like protools will work but won't integrate properly with siemens so becomes stand alone. Best is to install it if you have problems running it right click the program icon and click on properties then compatibilty try Xp to start. I have siemens and Win CC running on Win7 with good results except for protools which will have to be in Virtual XP mode.Īll the schnieder software also works on win 7 so far haven't loaded Rslogix yet.īest is to install the software as an Administrator(this is very important in Win7 as security is much like Vista - certain programs just won't install and run correctly)and see if it works, if win 7 see's an issue it will offer to run in compatibility mode ie XP/2000/98/even 95. Once downloaded and installed it will reside in Start - All Programs - Windows virtual Pc.
